Users can create their own recipes through the IFTTT website, or choose from some existing ones. The feature can be enabled or disabled at any time through X1 settings, under “Other Services.”
Why this matters: X1 is Comcast’s attempt to overhaul the cable box and better-compete with a wave of Internet-connected media streamers. While it’s hard to imagine a lot of subscribers settings up their own custom IFTTT alerts, the integration is a nod to tech enthusiasts who want their TVs to be more connected.
