Homido is pretty straight forward: You just drop your iOS or Android device into the slot and load up a VR-enabled application. It’s not that much more high-tech than Google’s cheaper cardboard enclosure, though it does feel more immersive since it straps on your head and allows you to flail your arms around (as I did in the video above).
The Homido VR headset features custom-made VR lenses with a 100-degree field of view, farsightedness and nearsightedness settings, and a variety of optical settings so that it’s comfortable for your eyes. It costs 84.90 € ($93), with the option to add on a Bluetooth gamepad for an additional 14.91 € ($16.50). We have the headset in our possession and will be testing it out fully in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
