As per the agreement, Puppet Enterprise will come pre-installed on Huawei's switches. Beginning with the CloudEngine series of switches, Huawei will pre-install Puppet Enterprise agents on CloudEngine devices and will develop Puppet modules on the NetDev standard.
Huawei switch and enterprise communications product line datacentre network general manager, Yu Li, made this announcement at Huawei's recent Network Congress 2015.
This deal also encompasses the signing of a memorandum of understanding by businesses such as Microsoft, VMware, f5, Brocade, fireWalls, and Southern Cross University.
According to Li, this would enable Huawei with a complete end-to-end software defined networking datacentre.
He said it brings the benefits of automating network configurations to companies in Europe and Asia-Pacific. In addition, he claimed joint customers will be able to extend on Puppet's management throughout the datacentre, increasing the adoption of software defined networking.
"Huawei is now proactively participating in building an open Cloud eco-system. Together, we will carry out joint research and development and promotion of Cloud datacentre automation to help our customers implement automatic deployment and unified management of Cloud datacentre networks."

In addition, he mentioned joint customers will be able to reduce provisioning times of new applications, enable Puppet Enterprise's Event Inspector tool to be the only tool that gives visibility into all infrastructure changes, minimises human error, and enforces a DevOps culture.
Puppet Labs CEO, Luke Kanies, claimed this collaboration lets enterprises automate the tools and services they are currently using.
"Customers have application management problems. In the past, it has been siloed but now, this is a single stack that allows them to focus on the customer problems and not the technology problems.
