After an initial beta test, the social network is rolling out a new Periscope button inside the Twitter app on Android and iOS. When you go to compose a tweet, and then choose to insert media, you’ll see a new “live” option.
You’ll then be able to broadcast live through Periscope or get a prompt to download the app.
To ensure you have the feature, grab the latest version of Twitter from the App Store or Google Play.
Why this matters: Periscope has a key advantage over Meerkat by being a subsidiary of Twitter. With such quick access to going live, more people may be willing to give the feature a try. The downside, however, is that Twitter has struggled with harassment and terrorists using its network, so there could be some hazard in such wide availability of live broadcasting.
