Jive updates deliver boost to enterprise communications
A new version of the company's Jive-n software for internal communications aims to help organizations improve both companywide and group communications.
In order to help keep employees informed, for example, the new software offers a revamped home-page with curated news streams that can be tailored by department, office location, specific role or custom profile fields.
Measures are available to help human-resources or communications leaders track how their messages are received. Also visible is information indicating which readers find an item organically and which receive it through a subscription channel.
"It's not just a question of sending the word out, but how is my message landing" said Colleen Jansen, Jive's vice president of global marketing.
Improved search capabilities in Jive-n aim to make it easier for employees to find the materials they're looking for, while deeper integration with Google Docs and Microsoft SharePoint is designed to deliver smoother collaboration regardless of where documents are stored.
On the external communications side, Jive-x received an update as well, with a focus on engaging prospects, customers and partners.
An overhauled home-page and dedicated news filters are part of the upgrade on this side as well, but probably most notable in the updated Jive-x is direct integration with marketing-automation software provider Marketo. That, in turn, enables the delivery of campaign analytics that extend beyond just user website activity and "all the way through to the community," Jansen said.
