Nike ticks Juniper MetaFabric for private cloud network
Nike plans to use components of Juniper's open standards-based MetaFabric architecture to deploy applications across its international operations more easily. Better data analytics and automation will also improve application performance.
MetaFabric, which consists of Juniper routing, switching, security, management and orchestration tools, will support a 'carrier-class, ultra-scalable, secure network architecture', the sportswear firm said.
"Nike is focused on elevating and accelerating innovation in our products, services and our digital ecosystem," said Anthony Watson, chief information officer at Nike, who joined from Barclays in February.
"This requires progressive and agile technology solutions that keep pace with our growth, which is what Juniper's solutions offer."
"Enterprises are re-engineering their business models in light of changing customer behaviour and emerging technologies," said Juniper Networks CEO, and former Barclays CTO, Shaygan Kheradpir.
