SugarCRM beefs up its global executive team with three new hires
Remy Malan has been promoted as SugarCRM's first chief customer officer. In this role, he will be in charge of managing the company's customer success and professional services organisations, and will be responsible for ensuring the success of its customers' CRM initiatives.
Previously, Malan led SugarCRM's professional services organisation, deploying enterprise-scale projects for the company's largest customers. Some of his prior roles also include serving as the senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Teleplace and as the vice-president of the semiconductor business at Devicescape.
SugarCRM said, in a statement, that it's only natural for the company to have a senior executive solely dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction and success since it's got a strong focus on customer relationship management.
Steve Valenzuela's been named the company's new chief financial officer. Valenzuela has had more than 30 years of finance experience, and most recently served as the chief financial officer of Apigee.
Prior to Apigee, Valenzuela was the vice-president of finance and operations for the mobile platforms group at Citrix. He came to Citrix from Zenprise, where he also served as chief financial officer.
Fred Gewant got appointed to the SugarCRM worldwide sales executive vice-president role, thanks to his experience of leading enterprise software organisations for more than two decades.
Prior to joining SugarCRM, Gewant served as vice-president of IBM's western region. He came to IBM through its acquisition of ILOG, where he was vice-president of the Americas field operations. Prior to ILOG, Gewant spent eleven years holding several executive leadership roles at JD Edwards.
