Mingis on Tech: Windows 10 turns 1

28.07.2016
As the one-year anniversary of Windows 10 rolls around, it's a good time to take stock of how well Microsoft's OS has done and what users can expect with the Anniversary Update that arrives Aug. 2.

Executive News Editor Ken Mingis and Windows expert Preston Gralla look at where Windows 10 is now. (For one thing, it's installed on more than 320 million devices at last count.) Gralla should know: He wrote Computerworld's hands-on look at the Anniversary Update, detailing the changes users will see. And he put together a comprehensive Knowledge Pack of tips and tricks for Windows 10 users.

The biggest change involves Microsoft's Edge browser, which finally gets add-on extensions that should allow the browser to do more -- if those add-ons actually show up. Of course, Edge use seems to be trending down, but that's a different story.

And if you're wondering what you need to do to get the Anniversary Update, Gralla has the answers.
