New Windows 10 TP build adds Windows Phone Action Center
Build 9860 will be between 2GB and 2.74GB, depending on CPU architecture and language, and after it's finished downloading, the PC will install it and reboot, but the reboot will be longer than normal, according to Aul.
After logging in, users will have to go through the "installing your apps" wizard, and in the background the system will rebuild its search index and sync with OneDrive. "This should stabilize within the first couple hours of use," he wrote.
The new build will have known bugs and issues, including user interface design regressions necessary to put the finishing touches on certain design elements. "For example in this build we know that it's harder to join a Wi-Fi network. We'll make changes to fix that later," Aul wrote.
Testers may also see user interface issues in Internet Explorer and the Start menu, and some PCs may have trouble shifting to sleep mode. And those who like to play Microsoft Solitaire and Mahjong while they test Windows 10 Technical Preview may find those games won't launch. Also, when using two external monitors over Display Link, undocking may trigger a blue screen.
Aul devoted a part of the blog post to explain to testers that just because they don't see changes that have been suggested doesn't mean they have been discarded by Microsoft. "To date you've sent us over 250,000 pieces of feedback through the Windows Feedback tool, 25,381 community forum posts, and 641 suggestions in the Windows Suggestion Box. Every day we work through the latest round of feedback and incorporate that into our engineering process," he wrote.
